Mafia: Old Country
Story
I haven’t finished the game yet — I’m somewhere in Chapter 6 or 7 — but I can already tell you this: Mafia: Old Country might not be a perfect Mafia game, but it’s been one hell of a ride so far.
Sicily is gorgeous. The streets, the golden sunset over the hills, the quiet villages where whispers travel faster than bullets — it’s all brought to life with beautiful detail. And I know the view would have been even more breathtaking if I'd played on the 4K TV...but for now, the monitor is doing the work.
The story builds differently this time. I won’t spoil anything. I’m still in the middle of it — but Enzo’s climb from nothing to standing shoulder to shoulder with the “big fish” is compelling. It’s a reminder of what power does to a man. In this world, you chase wealth to survive, but the more you get, the more the lines between good and evil fade.
This isn’t my final perspective about the game — just a mid-journey reflection. I’ll save the rest for when I’ve seen where Enzo’s story ends. But so far? Sicily’s been treating me well…
Gameplay
The gameplay? Familiar, in the best way possible. It carries that spirit of the Mafia 1 remake — no unnecessary changes, just refined, deliberate pacing. I like how it encourages you toward stealth over chaos; sometimes the smartest move is to stay in the shadows, not spray bullets in the daylight or at night.
